The provisional date has finally been set for the charity auction of the last South Crofty 28lb tin ingot, cast earlier this year from the last ore mined at South Crofty and processed at Wheal Jane in March 1998. The live auction should be held on Thursday the 7^th of August by David Lay Auctions of Penzance. Further details, including times, to follow. All proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospice South West.

The ingot comes with a small jar of concentrate from the last day of production, and a certificate of authenticity which details all the provenance of the tin with historical data supplied by the senior management team of the time.
