Speed, accuracy and personal service

September News

Recent months have seen increased interest in more obscure analysis projects including antimony and arsenic, as well as precious metals such as platinum, palladium and iridium. Increased interest is being shown in e-waste analysis particularly from parts of Asia. The laboratory has also been involved in the analysis of various metal ingots from ship wrecks that are being salvaged both locally around Cornwall, and from salvage sites as far away as Africa.

The latest extension plans, which will supplement the laboratory’s existing gold and precious metal capability with an extension to provide a new fire assay section and a general furnace and hot working area, are still on schedule for completion in early 2015. The extension will also include an additional sample storage area.
